The Language of Art

Category: Gallery
Submitted by AnnieSilver

Art can be so many things; a sumptuous meal, a flower in bloom, a babies smile, a sunset, moonlight on the water, wearable art in the form of jewellery in fact anything that delights our senses and our souls. Humans are the only beings on this planet to create and admire beauty in this way and the evolution of any object of art from inspiration through our imaginations and turned into form is a way for our creativity and inspiration to express itself fully. Surrounding ourselves with beauty in any form reminds serves as a reminder that life is not just about toil, it is about living life and expressing joy. It also reminds us that we too are beautiful.

“Out from my mind
out from my body
out of my awareness
where nothing was before
out of the void
into the world
now there is something new
and all life is nourished.”

The language of art connects people through beauty, inspiration and creativity; it reminds us of our unique ability to experience true joy which is the essence of our soul. Rather than thinking about art as merely a painting on a wall or a sculpture, a redefinition of art is thinking of it as a conduit to a sensual response, art entertains our senses, defines our humanity and provides a path beyond the mundane.

The Jewellery Gallery @ Carrington's owner Julie Carrington has truly taken this to heart as she explores how many ways she can introduce beauty and joy into the world around her via her innate love of art in all its forms. Julie has yet again taken another leap into the world of showcasing amazing art, from the inception of The Jewellery Gallery itself which features the work of artisans who dedicate themselves to producing gorgeous designs in silver that can only be called 'wearable art' to the latest foray into the launch and exhibition of art works of all kinds as The Jewellery Gallery becomes a launching pad for new and talented local artists.

"We want to offer a venue for local artists to exhibit their art and for locals and visitors to the area to come along and be entertained, enjoy themselves and be inspired by the art itself." says Julie her excitement showing clearly in her voice and face as she discusses the Exhibition and Art Launch called “The Language of Art“ is to be held on the 9th of June.

The list of artists includes:

The works of Lisa Morgan who expresses with paint the way memories and experiences through landscapes and daily visions can give us a new sense of reality. Lisa’s preferred medium is acrylic on canvass and there is a weaving of figures in her work that of many journeys and farewells, be it with lovers, children and friends significant to her life.

Dizzy Dawn works with beads and old school crafts culminating it with her experiences with local Caribbean craftspeople working with copper and Dizzy has created amazing pieces of wearable art as jewellery of a different nature. Her designs are the perfect balance of classical ingredients recycled into contemporary cool.

The works of Leigh K Joyce remind us of childhood joy, romance and love; she draws her inspiration from her love of children, flowers, birds, animals and all things that move her. The works are full of adventure, spontaneity and magic and using bold colours and detailed etching to create paintings that are certain to make you smile.

The Art Launch is to be a day of art, beauty, fun and frivolity as guests are treated to nibbles, drinks and the lush warm tones of Lea Sanson, singer. There will be fun competitions as would be artists are given a canvas and a theme and are asked to paint their own works of art. In short an amazing event where you will be sure to enjoy every moment and come away feeling inspired, creative and joyous.
